Herbert Hoover

Herbert Hoover (August 10th, 1874 – October 20th, 1964) was president of United States from March 4th, 1929

to March 4th, 1933. During his presidency, in foreign policy mediated peace between Chile and Peru for resolve the conflict that they kept over the sovereignty of Arica and Tacna, both Peruvian possessions that Chile obtained after win the war that declared to Peru and Bolivia and that in virtue of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship signed in 1883 gave end to the Pacific War. Finally, both countries signed a new treaty in 1929 through which Tacna returned to sovereignty of Peru, leaving the conflict settled.
