individuals and organizations that while in essence fighting for the abstract notion of "good" (protecting minorities / oppressed or trying to make society more ethical) do not obey the law nor do they see traditions or current social "norms" as barriers to doing what they believe is right.

Many of these individuals are anti-establishment and see the current ruling "elite" as corrupt or dangerous, as such they are often at odds with authorities and seen as criminals or activists - however in history some of these individuals are vital as freedom-fighters against dictatorships or in exposing conspiracies and hidden crimes across the world.

With the rise of technology the trend towards "chaotic good" is growing as people from across the globe are more easily able to expose corruption and abuse via social media sites and band together in large numbers (and general secrecy) to oppose elements of society they see as "evil" or "corrupt".
